Preparation Room Administrative Assistant
Location: Sorensen Chapel, Hayward, CA
The Preparation Room Assistant helps the embalmer to manage the day-to-day operations and resources of the Preparation Room. Duties include answering phone answering, taking messages, providing accurate case information, maintaining case boards, receiving and staging of supplies and casket deliveries, handling decedent case paperwork and filing, creating and distributing daily department decedent case reporting information and other tasks.
Education and Experience
High School diploma/GED, some college preferred, and/or 2-4 years of experience in an office environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding the Order of Christian Funeral processes
- Administrative skills, answering phone, taking messages.
- Able to conduct oneself with a “Family First” approach
- Able to multi-task
- Ability to coordinate with many internal departments and external providers
- Acts in a courteous, professional, and customer-focused manner
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong time management skills and able to meet tight deadlines
- Proficient in the use of computers, software, and technology
- Proficient with MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Licenses and Certifications
Valid state issued driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance is required
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift or move objects weighing between 50-75 lb
