Role Clarity and Expectations
CFCS Diocesan Leader
The Director of Mission Services is the face of a CFCS within their diocese. They are responsible for executing the business, financial, and mission strategies, with sales staff reporting directly to the Director. The Director of Mission Services is a part of the CFCS diocese leadership team and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The Director of Mission Services primary focus is on parish outreach, sales, sales management as it develops, and coordination with the Director of Funeral Services.
Sales, Management & Coaching (50%)
Initially handle sales to families for columbaria and funeral services, along with the development of a sales team.
Accountable for managing the CFCS sales process & activities of FSA’s & FSD’s, and individual sales performance goals to meet and or exceed revenue expectations. Provide coaching on sales skills & performance, utilizing available CRM, sales and family service reports for improvement opportunities.
Conducts 1:1 meeting with staff members, focused on coaching towards growth and performance.
Responsible for implementing all CFCS programs and processes (The CFCS Way) as directed.
Manage parish and community outreach scheduling.
Community Outreach and Stakeholder Management (20%)
Provide leadership in building relationships and collaborative partnerships with
o priests, parish staff, parishioners, and Catholic groups/ministries o hospices, hospitals, senior care facilities, and retirement communities and educate them on the Order of Christian Funerals, CFCS Mission Programs and services, and the benefits of Advanced Planning
Develop and maintain Parish relationships; and be the main point of resolution for conflicts.
Responsible for Outreach to local Parishes, conducting outreaches.
Family Experience Operations (10%)
Accountable for working with the Director of Funeral Services ensuring that all staff members follow the CFCS Service Standards & The CFCS Way processes, ensuring the Family Experience is superior in service and delivery.
Assure compliance with legal and safety requirements, cfcs policies, Church directives and vendor management.
Team Development (15%)
Accountable for implementing the CFCS culture and delivering National & Local CFCS communications.
Manage Role Based CFCS LMS learning paths for staff members, ensuring participation and compliance, utilizing the CFCS University training program.
Conducts and submits CFCS performance reviews as directed.
Build and manage a high-quality team, meeting all of CFCS’s expectations regarding hiring, training, and offboarding staff.
Administration (5%)
Review, prepare and submit weekly-monthly performance reports to Chief Operating Officer (CRM, Marketing, Sales Reporting, other Dashboard items).
Responsible for efficient and effective administrative processes & procedures of sales staff.
Provide quality control of all family arrangements, document standards and checking for accuracy and full engagement of the CFCS Way.
Monitor regional diocesan outreach, community events, and review the results with the Chief Operating Officer
Provide recommendations for improving overall effectiveness of outreach and community events
Provide coaching to enhance family-facing engagement and networking skills
